LYNX bus bar extensions? Cable stacking limits?

LYNX Distributor...How many cable connections can be stacked on each pos/neg terminal stud? 24V system so smaller cabling... What is commonly done to avoid using more than one LYNX? Bus bar extensions bolted on? Possible to connect cables on the bolt end where another LYNX would mate up? I see that is commonly done at the end to attach switch/shunt/fuse, but how about extending the neg bus bar out the oposite end where it would usually mate up with another LYNX? Ive searched here and Victron Docs, but nothing definitive. Was hoping for real world applications/examples. Yes, im a first time DIY... any input appreciated.

If I were to use the lynx products I would do 1 wire to each branch and it would have to meet the ampacity and voltage drop requirements for the application.
For the backplane I would use whatever conductor met the ampacity and voltage drop requirements for the application.

Why not use another busbar solution that meets your requirements.

Yes lynx backplanes will connect
One end is high the other end is low so that the offsets match.
The system is rated for 1000 amps continous.

Why not use another busbar solution that meets your requirements.

I have and want to use the LYNX, hoping to make it work without using an additional LYNX for only 2-3 15a-20a circuits.

I did look at your bus bar suggestions thanks for including them.

So cable stacking is not done? I would only do so on low amp circuits. IF its done, what is common and what would be maximum?

I see diagrams with added small bus bars to attach main switches/shunts etc., so why not add a small neg bus bar onto the other end vs an additional cable and bus bar, as i described above? Thank youIMG_3606 2.jpeg



Added a photo above. What about putting a bolt/stud thru the pos bus bar where the small circles are? Plenty of clearance for cabling

Fused busbars don't usually allow much stacking.
You might get away with a ring terminal on top of a lug but that is about it.
For an un-fused busbar the AYBC allows 3 or 4 lugs to be stacked, I can't remember so I limit to 2.
For a fused busbar position it doesn't make much sense to stack terminals especially if they are not part of the same circuit.
I do stack low amperage ring terminals circuits with in-line fuses on top of high amperage fused circuits as a matter of convenience.

For the positive side I use it with mrbf fuses instead of zcase and as I've said I will stack one low amperage ring terminals on top of a high amperage connection.

Im unclear how the MRBF/Zcase fuse holder combo is stacked up? Might you have an assembled photo with cabling to illustrate? What would you recommend for a single negative busbar? Thanks again

Just to be clear, the additional circuits i want to add to the LYNX are chargers (MPPT/Orion) that i will run through a breaker panel before LYNX. I wanted to connect them to the positive bus bar in the LYNX. Also wanted to tie in all grounds to the negative LYNX bus bar.

For the negative busbar any traditional busbar will do.
Just pick the number of studs and the diameter of the studs.

I understand and would not stack high current circuits... Breaker panel either Blueseas distribution panel with toggles or Midnight Solar mini as i want to be able to switch them. Hoping you might have that photo... thanks

A feeder to a distribution panel would be a high current branch.
If a 20a circuit is considered a high current branch then i wouldn't stack them. Thats why im seeking any modifications to the LYNX such as drilling a hole with bolt/stud in the very beefy 1000a bus bar for these already fused/breaker charge circuits, or bolting on a small bus bar to the LYNX positive bus bar, as i mentioned above.

A ring terminal can handle 10 awg wire and 30 amps fault current or 24 amps service current.
The voltage drop will be a bit higher but that might be acceptable.
