So I have a diesel generator for back up,
and I bought a Magnum AGS and the 2 wire pigtail to start it
when the inverter calls for it to charge the batteries.
The problem is the gen will not start with the pigtail
connected together, but it will start randomly without.
This is how I have it connected, the Aux battery is because the
Magnum will not crank it using the Gen Batt+ connected to pin 2.
The 12 volt supply is a power supply connected to the gen output.
The run and start outputs are connected to standard 5 pin 30 amp relays
which I can activate manually and they operate correctly.
I don't show the remote switch in this diagram, but it is connected along with the 2 wire pigtail.
This is the diagram that came with the AGS, and what I used for connection.
Before I added the Aux battery, it would attempt
to crank when the pigtail was connected.
All the pots on the AGS are off, except Temp,
which the directions say anywhere other than off.
The thermistor in the remote switch is cut per the instructions.
So, can anybody offer some advice to make the AGS work correctly?
Many Thanks!!
