I know this could be subjective,

I bought alot of the mastervolt gear second hand, and nearly have a complete system minus the batteries. Mastervolt works for me mostly because i can plug it into the N2K network and have it displayed on my simrad.

I have the following items,

1) 12/2500-100 combi mass (230v)
2) 12/12 50 DC-DC charger macplus
3) 500amp shunt mastervolt
4) the digital readout
5) a couple of masterbus network switches
6) batterymate 2503
7) masterbus usb configure

i plan on getting a combi 12/3000 (120v) as the boat is wired for 120v but in a 230v location. i have a 120v genset, that i plan to go via the additional combi. the 230v one i will use as a principal battery charger and maybe a lead for a kettle or something while i am in the marina.

So given what i got do i need to buy the comparatively expensive mastervolt 12/3000 or 12/6000 mli battery. which will balance with the network cables to the charge source, or can I put in some much cheaper batteries.

I am not that concerned on total wh or how fast it can charge, i am more concerned about burning the boat with a cheaper battery.

i need upto 2500w with 120v, so the batteries need over 200amps continuous discharge or need to be in parallel to achieve
