i bought a solar panel that came with an mc4 cable. i also purchased an mc4 to 5521 cable to plug into my power station. unfortunately the two mc4 cables don't match up. i haven't been able to find something to connect the two together at amazon. what do i need to connect the two mc4 cables together? thanks.

My issue is similar but my panels only have a XT60 output port and a 5525 port. My extension cables have MC4. What adapter do I need to connect?

I see several adapters that appear to look like what I need, but they are describing "from MC4 to XT60. I think I need "from XT60 to MC4" Is there a current directive or does it matter. I read where the positive and negatives may be reversed in some of the cables thus damaging my components. I certainly can't afford a mistake. I saw a Mookeerf solar adapter on Amazon but again, it says from MC4 to XT60.

Hopefully you have a DMM and check polarity before you attempt to power anything. You have only two wires in play from a solar panel. One is pos and the other is neg. You could simply splice cables together and skip any adapters for a less elegant arrangement.

This is a picture of the back of the solar panel 17447442379891588992113837308633.jpg

I see it. If you have a plug and cord that fits it it might make it easier to check the wires. Typically round style (the DC) will have the pos pin in the center and the negative on the barrel of the plug. From your image it looks like it has 2 USB A outputs (out 1&2), 1 USB C (out 3), 1 DC pin style and the #4 out is the XT60. There it shows two pins that you could probe with the DMM for pos and neg.

Okay, I got that part. I can do that. I really don't want to splice anything. Since the adapter that I'm reviewing doesn't have any indication which side of the XT60 is pos or neg, and using a DMM on something that has no power seems like I will be just guessing. Sorry for such dumb questions, but like I said, I'm new to all of this but still determined to learn. I don't have a picture of the Mookeerf adapter, but it has a XT60 on one end and a male and female MC4 on the other. I want to plug in the XT60 to the XT60 port on the solar panel and then the MC4s to the MC4 on the extension cable. Will that work?

This worked for our EcoFlo Delta pro from Amazon

I don't think that will work as it says on Amazon that it connects to a solar pane with MC4 output. My solar panel has a XT60 output.

Your panel has voltage out anytime it is in sunshine. Since a XT60 plug can only be inserted one way you can than figure which side is pos or neg. Some of the patch cords are color coded (red is pos, black is neg) but it is best to double check.
