Hey all, is it possible to network a midnite classic 150 with a schneider system to monitor the PV input to the system with insight software?

I you're off-grid, I don't think there's a reason that the Schneider needs to communicate with the charge controller. I've operated my XW+& SW4024 systems for eight years now with Midnight 200 controllers with zero communication. Is this solely concerning feeding the grid?

The noted assumption here is that the settings in the charge controller agree with the settings in the inverter/charger... i.e. set the inverter/charger for lower voltages than the PV puts out by a few tenths of a volt so you use PV first when it is present

I helped a friend upgrade his SW4024 to an XWpro last week. He has the Midnite E panel, with 2 classic 150 charge controllers. He is completely off grid. I just thought it would be cool to see the PV production from the Midnite's through the insight software. Since he is off grid, it really doesn't matter anyway. All he has is PV, aside from his generator.

Please note that for the Schneider inverters, either the XW series, or the SW series, for which I have both, are NOT AiOs, so neither inverter charges the battery unless there is generator power coming into the unit (or grid). So, though the Schneider is measuring the voltage, unless you are running a generator to charge the batteries, the voltage value the inverter measures is irrelevent. For my own units, I simply set the generator charging values the same as my Midnite values and left it at that.

Yep, that's how we set my friends up. We just matched the voltage levels. It turned out pretty good. The only issue we ran into was the generator not engaging until we changed the battery settings on the XW from Lithium to Custom. He loves the upgrade from the SW. He doesn't have to worry about overloading anymore when his well pump, sump pump, and laundry happen at the same time lol
