Mixing AGM batteries of different amp hour ratings.

I am going to be running two Vmax 100 Amp Hour Rating batteries in parallel. Can I add a third 36 Amp Hour AGM battery to the set, in parallel without issues? Just figuring a few things out before I bring my semi permanent system on line. Thanks for putting up with my questions.

You might want to search discussion of hybrid systems.

I have seen threads about people doing that but am not interested in doing it, so haven't read the specifics. There's one thread here ...

from a google search:

Can I Connect Dissimilar Batteries in Parallel?
  1. We would strongly discourage anyone from connecting batteries in series or parallel applications, if the batteries are not identical in age, size and type. ...
  2. The same is also true of batteries that are identical in every way, except that one battery is older than the other.
I'm assuming you're thinking of using the old one with the new. That's my problem. I have to go all new to increase the capacity of my Gel battery bank. No slapping new batteries in. I don't want to prematurely kill perfectly good batteries

That was an interesting view. At the moment I am too much of chicken shit to go mixing different types of batteries. I am gong to stick with AGM batteries for the time being.

I am going to use the two Vmax batteries in parallel because they are the same model number although not the same age, I will probably steer clear of adding the 5 year old 36 amp hour battery to the set that was not only old but also made by another MFR. Unless of course someone comes along and types the words "GO FOR IT" LOL. Edit: I think I mucked up my replies. I did not intend to post my other comment but it was sort of integrated into this reply. Weird.
