I have a roof vent on my garage that I installed myself 2 years ago which does help during summer months. It sticks out roughly 5" from the shingles.
I want to now install solar panels on this roof and was wondering if I should relocate this completely (not very easy, and may not look aesthetically good as this is in the center of the roof and roughly 2' from the top ridge) or just add solar panels on top of this vent. I am not sure how much clearance will be under the panels when I use xr-10 rails, and if this vent will heat up the panels further reducing the efficiency. Any recommendations?
