I am not sure if anyone ever answered this but the MPP LV5048 does not blend or share grid power with solar it switches entirely to grid bypass if overloaded. There are NO MPP hybrid inverters capable of selling to grid. There is only one model that I am aware of that can blend or share the load with the grid and it is a european 230 volt model. I think it is the MPP PIP 5048GK but dont quote me on that.

Question: I was considering a pair of LV6548 s but since they are 120v each if one goes down you do not have 240v capability. A pair of LV6048 s are both split phase and the main differences I can see are the size and weight and 1,000 watt less max continuous power. Total price is similar.

Did you (those that bought or considered pair of lv6548 s ) look at this option or was the LV6048 not available? What other differences if any are there ?

Each LV6548 is a single phase.

It is 120Vac +- 5% per phase. 60Hz or 50 Hz
It works in Single Phase, Parallel, Split Phase, or 3-Phase. and pretty much any combination of the three, up to six can be set to work together.

Yes I am aware of that but a pair of lv6048 s are both split phase so if one goes out you still have 240 v split phase.

The only thing I see new on the LV6048 is that it has 6kW output AC, but LESS MPPT range (60-110VDC).
Honestly, I don't see the point of it. I would bet that the 6048 is actually two LV3024s inside one box, just like the LV5048 with 2xLV2424s in one box. If you are thinking these are redundant and can keep going if one fails, you will be sad. They are not redundant when installed. They are one unit. If one fails, it all turns off. You would have to disconnect and reconfigure it all to switch to single unit operation.

I went from LV5048 to LV6548 primarily for the much higher voltage MPPT. I have already realized a significant boost in PV capture efficiency just due to doubling the DC Voltage from the PV.

And back to the LV6548 info:
I am seeing about 60 watts, idle with two in 240V split.
One at ~23 W and one at ~36

On a side note...
I blasted my car EVSE with 7.6 kW of battery during the day off-grid.
It only pulled 164 amps out of the 48V battery. 🤣 (And no, my off-grid solar could not keep up!)

Back down to a reasonable 10 amp EVSE charge, gives a ~47 amp draw on the batteries.

My PV array is not yet rewired for this, it is still in 2 times 2s3p configuration. So what happens when you take 2s3p and make two strings into one? You get a 4s3p configuration, a 60V string becomes 120V. Same 12 panels, just one silly long string.

My solar array is not at all optimized for my latitude, it is at about a 5° incline, and should be about 38°. So I am really missing out on a lot of daily Sun because of the roof of my utility room. It's OK though because usually on clear days, the battery bank is fully charged by 10:00 AM, even in the middle of winter like it is now.

Yeah I didn't realize the mppt range was actually 5v lower than the LV5048 but it wouldn't effect my current array. I dont think just removing parallel hookup and reprogramming setup would be much to do at all to delete one of the split phase units maybe I am missing something . No rewiring required. I definitely like the higher input pv voltage of the lv6548. Right now my top choices are a pair of lv6548 s like u have or a pair or even initially one of the DEYE 8Kw units. I could keep 1 lv5048 dedicated to upstairs HVAC or all the 120v breakers. The difference is with 2 DEYE 8kw units in parallel I would be able to hook up my whole house panel to them and grid to only run through the DEYE units and use all available PV power to run whatever I want if if its not enough since they blend grid power to make up the difference being used and I could add another 6,000 watts or so of panels.
The idle sounds about right as a single LV5048 is 23 watts .
Here is a pic of my 30 panel DUT tillable mount at almost full tilt its at 51 degrees here.

DIY totally by myself and I am over 60. Have 12 more panels on temporary mounts . 6 more mounted south like the the large array in an area that gets sun a little earlier and 6 more that get mainly west sun. Right now putting 9kw into batteries after running HVAC over night. Need more batteries and a few more panels. And of course MORE SUN !!
I cut several trees on North side of array so limbs etc couldn't fall and damage it. I then cut some tall evergreens that partially blocked it with low angle sun in winter.

I hadn't even noticed the lines ,pole and transformer till your comment. The IRONY is obvious now!

I’m planing on getting 20 400w panels but I’m wondering if the LV6548 18A limit per PV input is gonna be an issue. Here is the specs for the panel.

Pmax 400W
Vmp 40.8V
Imp 9.81A
Voc 48.6V
Isc 10.33A

They would be configured in 4S2P.

DON"T think that it is impossible for it to happen, I bought a weather station with a light sensor just to know. https://ambientweather.com/amws2902.html

Several times last summer it was well over 1000 w/m². I saw my "1800" watt strings do 2200 watts at least a dozen times.
Keep it simple, 4 strings of 5; ie 5S into each PV input.

So you’re saying I should do 5 in series even tho the VOC would be very close to 250V at 243V? The good thing is that it doesn’t get cold in Jamaica.

It is what came with the LV6548
The disk that came with my PIP-1012LV-MK (made on Nov 2020) that I received this month has 1.13SP7. I check on; line and on MPP SOLAR website and WATT24/7 are SP9. Right now when I try to set BYPASS FUCNTION using WatchPower, it keeps defaulting back to FORBIDDEN, but I can set what I want using the front panell button, ame issue with Operation Logic Setting.
Does your WatchPower also allow you to set Bulk Charging time? Mine is not shown that setting
