I have 820w (2 x 410w panels) of solar for my van. Can anyone recommend a MPPT that will handle this at 12v or do I need to switch to 24v? I would prefer budget rather than high-end products. (I will have a DIY 8 x LifePo4 cell battery)

Let's throw some simple math in here:
880w / 12v = 74a, so anything 80a or larger will work fine.

For affordable products that are still a reliable name brand, you can go with something like an EPEver 80a setup or their EPEver 100a setup or a Renogy 100a setup or if you want to go super budget there are options like the Ooycoo 100a controller, or the PowMr 100a controller which should still turn solar DC into battery DC, just without a lot of the fancy features.

You really need to post the specs from the sticker on the back of your panels to get a proper answer.

Voc, corrected for temperature, must be under the max Voltage allowed by a particular MPPT.
