Multiplus 2000va stopped responding / functioning

Fairly new install here, everything seemed fine on the first couple outings. Was prepping to head out again, and noticed that the Multiplus is no longer responding to commands from the VictronConnect app or the VenusOS app (rasp_pi).

Power cycled the main power, didnt seem to do anything. I did flip the switch manually on the Multiplus and all 3 lights turn on and quickly turn off when placed into the charger or inverter mode. The middle off obviously has them just off.

The SmartBluetooth dongle flashes blue, and the app can see it, but it doesnt seem to be able to control the Multiplus.

Voltage is good @ 13.3v, plenty of capacity in the 620ah worth of lifepo.

Any tricks to get this thing back on track?

Yes if any issues I've learned to disconnect the comm cable and flip the switch to off for a minute or so then flip it back on. If still doesn't work I remove DC power. My 12V inverter would have issues where it wouldn't turn back on if connected to the comm ports. it eventually died

So thats exactly what I ended up doing, powered the mains off, disconnected the dongles (BT and the MK3usb) and then fliped the switch a few times, and then powered everything back up.

Threads like this are what make me leery of all this Victron hitech comm stuff. It DOESN'T "Just work", there are 10 threads right now on the 1st page of this forum with people having Multiplus issues. Can you imaging if you had to do this jacking around every time you wanted to use your toaster in your house?

I'm really starting to not trust Victron Multiplus, the more I read here.

trust me, i was thinking the exact same thing like night while I was testing things out. Theres a lot of value in simplicity... I flip this mechanical toggle switch and the device just works.

At the end of the day, I love tech shit and I'll always lean towards using overly complicated stuff hah.

Everything is going to have issues. The difference is 90% of people here have Victron because they're soo much more reliable and better than anything else. They have a 5 year warranty and you can get a 7/10 year even I believe. Victron issues are extremely rare and I rarely see people with problems on here. Sure there's tons of threads on how to setup this and that or how xyz works but this is one of the few posts thats an actual issue.

Also OP's issue was solved by unplugging comm cables and flipping a switch. Its SOP for devices to need to restart if they're having issues.

I had a problem with 1 inverter and they shipped me a board so I could just replace myself instead of shipping a huge inverter back. My 12v inverter I mentioned had problems since day1 it just got worse and failed.

Thats kind of how i see it, you only hear the people who complain. People dont post when their gear is working great.

Couple that with the fact i think if you leave this gear running full time, its prob rock solid. Communications via bluetooth is kind of a wonky thing in the best of times, so you're bound to have some hiccups
