My 44kW vertical and bifacial set in Finland plus now 15kW roof mounted too.

Got 1000L diesel from my friend because they accidentally transferred it with pump used normally pumping waste oil. It is black but should be ~99,5% diesel/~0,5% used motor oil but they can't use it in their equipment anymore. So bought Chinese 8kW diesel heater for 120e and going to install it in old horse stable where my "solar corner" is located. Now I keep the place around 13-15C with mini split, but it is struggling below -25C.

Got 0,9MWh September so can't complain because that's more than twice last year. Roof panels didn't do much as they were covered in snow when it was cold/sunny and when it was warm there was no sun to be seen, only thick grey clouds. Day is under 6h long now.

Two more months to get any decent/almost daily production. I'm waiting around 100kWh production today as there is fresh snow and supposed to be full sun all day, but days like these are really rare now.

Got some frost over my verticals this morning.

Can you do some timelapse videos from this view?

0,8MWh this month and while that's nothing to brag about out of 60kWp, it's twice compared to last December. Late July installed roof panels didn't help much as they are always under snow/ice. It has been warm and maybe even unusually sunny at least here. Because it has been so warm and sunny I needed to buy only 4MWh from PoCo. That can change soon, but now that winter solstice is over solar should ramp up fast too.

Got my CCS 2kW diesel heater working and heating old horse stable yesterday where my "solar corner" is also located. I did order 8kW unit at first but that never showed up and I got refunded. When ordering current one I decided to get smaller version as then it can be always on this time of year. Made also exhaust heat recovery system out of old radiator and it seems to work pretty nicely. At full chant it seems to be able to heat the whole 700m3 (25,000ft3) building down to -10C, maybe even -15C as I can get by with +12-14C indoor temperatures there. At least it will give minisplit easier times. Looking at it with naked eye maybe 5-6 liters of fuel was used in a full day. Surprisingly quiet.

Now it's time for sauna and swim, maybe taste of vodka on the side.

I'm making a bonfire outside, just grilled some burgers, I'll do some long exposure photography (the sky is clear and no more wind like yesterday), and then some Scotch. My wife put on the coffee just now and there is blueberry pie waiting :)

..and I almost made 1kWh today!

Hyvää uutta vuotta!

January got me 1,2MWh, bought only 3,2kWh and even exported 0,2MWh when spot prices were high. It has been exceptionally warm here and now that little 2kW CCS diesel heater takes care about 95% of all old horse stable heating with free diesel my January electricity consumption has never been this low.

Still I'd prefer colder, proper winter.

New to the forum, new to the solar energy.

Have 63 Bluesun bifacial 700W N-type shingled panels, 22 old electric poles, shit load of underground cable, 51 x 6m 40x40x3mm marine grade aluminium, 2 Bluesun 15kW on-grid inverters, 2 Deye 15/12kW hybrid inverters, 30kW lead acid battery and 4 x 5kW LiFePo4 batteries. Have also 2kW wind turbine for the fun of it. Almost everything is around 50% off compared to shop prices around here and one of the main objectives is trying to keep costs down.

Maybe a set like this is nothing new to the forum, but I doubt no one has installed panels this way (and maybe never will...). Main focus will be avoiding any shadows on either side of the panel - on contrary to my nickname "shadowmaker".

Got first set of three panels ready for glueing tomorrow. Now I only need to build 20 sets more of these...

Have been working 85-110 hours/week since last late February, so this isn't going to be ready within next week. Actually, after 8 hours playing with first set, I need to go to work now.

Way cool Bro! What is so elegant about your use of these new big bifacial panels in your geographic location is under favorable circumstances (north-south property or livestock paddock boundaries) they can serve as fences that make energy! As far north as you are installing this you could also install these vertically along east west property lines. In winter you would get no output from the north facing side, but in summer the sun is shining on both sides. As Robert Frost wrote, "Good fences make good neighbors," so neighbors might consider sharing the cost, benefits, and maintenance of such boundary fences!

Well... My closest neighbor's wife got pretty mad when I put those post upright on my field as she was certain my array will block their view to village "center" although they have pretty thick forest between my panels and them. I told her that I can build a barn there if I want as it is my land. Right after that I promised they can use my well for free to wash their car and water their lawn if they want and that seemed to calm her down. I really didn't need to do that, but they have been easy neighbors this far and I don't want enemies for no reason. Now after two years she is quite ok with my array. Funny thing is that I actually benefit when they use my water as my natural well is way too big for me only as it used to provide water for 5 households and ~100 animals before municipal water supply and drainage reached us.

Too bad there's prob no pressing need for water delivery services in your area. Excuse to buy a tanker truck, let it fill from bountiful well with excess solar production...profit?
