Hello everyone, I need some help and feedback gathering the rest of the equipment for my solar system. So far, I have the following:
1. 24v battery bank
2. Midnite Classic 200 charge controller
3. Samlex 24v 2000w Inverter
4. 250w solar panels (Imp 8.13a, Voc 37.5v)
5. 10ga wires

This will be on a ground mount on 2 strings of 4.

Do I need a combiner box?
What else might I need?

Thanks in advance.

If only two strings.
You don't need a combiner box , or even fuses.
You can use MC4 Y adapters.
I would recommend a disconnect and SPD near the SCC for maintenance reasons.

@timselectric has it right as usual.

You'll need a few more things...
- Cable for the SCC-to-battery, and for the battery-to-inverter. 10 gauge won't be sufficient.
- Lugs for said cable ends and a tool to install them.
- Breakers or fuses for SCC-to-battery and battery-to-inverter.

I think 10awg is just from “combiner” location to SCC.

I personally would rather have some means of isolating each string from each other without having to mess with MC4s an indoor or out door combiner box to me seems the easiest way and also include OCP just for added safety.
