I just spent the last 6 hours rewiring my "professionally" installed system. My primary issue is with my inverter and my batteries. I have a Sol Ark 12. I think its the outdoor version that has the dongle on the left side. I also have four STORZ LFP48100 batteries. I've had this system for nearly 5 years and its been a pain in the ass for almost as long. I'm actually on the second inverter. Anyway, I rewired the batteries today so they are in a true parallel. I noticed the other day that they had been installed in some strange parallel hybrid setup where 2 were connected and then that feed went to a bus bar. And 2 more were connected that way and they went to the bus bar and then that went into the inverter. Maybe it worked fine, but it was nothing I had ever seen when researching battery connections. Now its more "normal". Still seems to work so I didn't burn anything down. Anyway, the thing that is vexing me is the BMS. I have done all kinds of research on the batteries and the inverter and everything I have found and tried has failed. First lets assume that I have the right Ethernet cables. I have the batteries all connected to each other and I have all the dip switches in what I have been told by the manufacturer is the correct setting for each of the four batteries. When I turn on the BMS setting on the inverter the display shows a triangle with an exclamation point in it and it defaults to voltage and not SOC which I prefer.
So here is my plea. Does anyone remotely have a set up like mine? What are your settings like? I think mine are right, but they were set by the installer which I have lost my faith in. So I need other advice. Last, why can't I get the Sol Ark and the STORZ batteries to talk to each other? What have I been doing wrong for 5 years? Thanks for any advice on this. I'll be happy to provide additional information if needed. I'm just tired of this equipment not functioning to its potential.
