Looking to roof mount panels. Not sure how I want to run the pv wire to my shed.
Not sure if I should go on top of roof, straight through to under cabin, into attic and and along rafter, rigid, EMT, etc. easiest and cheapest would be junction,box at array, conduit along roof and into conduit pipe flash at eve, then through soffit and along exterior wall.
Looking for ideas.
Picture attached of building with the following info:
- panels will be mounted near the ridge towards the middle/left of roof
- full attic access… interior walls = paneling so easy removal and reinstall for conduit run.
- pad and post foundation = full access under cabin.
-“power” shed is to the right of the sns grill
-from that shed pv wire is run underground to behind the solar panel next to the railing.
I prefer easy (exterior roof conduit run). Prefer less cost but will pay more for easy, and/or “better”. Having said that, I regret direct bury the pv wire from the shed instead of conduit. Should have gone conduit to begin with.
Having said THAT, I’m ok with splicing into the underground pv wire with the new wire run. I can instal a junction box on the stairs or on cabin to transition from thwn to pv
