What is the relationship between these 3 companies? They all sell nearly identical looking active balancers in 4A, 8A, 10A, and 15A versions.

Enerkey appears to be the OEM for Neey. Neey has used the GeeWe app. GeeWe is a Enerkey brand. They also use the Enerky app. I don’t know about Giantkey. They have their own app with a different developer name but it looks like the Enerky app.

So, what does Neey bring to the table? What value do they add to the Enerkey active smart balancers?

The relationships between Chinese suppliers is intriguing.

Found this on the EnerKey website

The intelligent protection board developed by EnerKey BMS has promoted the development of the lithium battery protection board industry.

The protection board can be connected through Bluetooth and mobile APP, communication box and upper computer, remote communication can be achieved through GPRS module, and LCD display screen can be supported.

Customers can monitor or adjust the protection board parameters at any time, making the use of lithium batteries safer and more reassuring.

The smart board has communication interfaces such as UART, RS485, RS232, and CANBUS, which can be widely used in various lithium battery products.

So back to my, probably rhetorical, question: is Neey the exact same product as the Enerkey and Giantkey that look nearly identical, or do they add their own special sauce to how the boards operate?

Final post on this I hope. My hypothesis is that all of these active smart balancers that look the same really are the same and will probably work with any of the apps. I’ll find out in a month or so when my batteries arrive and get installed. I ordered a “sample” of one of Enerkey’s 15-16S balancers. It looks slightly different from the 2-24s version but it’s the same technology and uses the same app(s).

These active balancers are definitively all made by Enerkey. The Enerkey and Giantkey apps are identical except that the Enerkey app is newer. Both work with my Enerkey balancer. I have not been able to find an app for Neey. I assume they just use the Enerkey app.

The Enerkey is available as a 16S balancer with fewer leads. That’s what I have.

It was supers easy to install on my factory-built Seplos “powerwall” battery.
