What reason there could be to declare offgrid systems illegal?

Technically, in my case, the PoCo has the license to produce power (in exchange for having built the grid). They are smart enough not to go after the residential off-grid folks, bad optics don'tcha know. In other news:

That sounds more likely in America than here--and probably because the big monopolies want to eliminate competition from the small folk. Here in Thailand, off-grid systems are not a problem...at least, not at present.

Oh i am sorry i read wrong your last post. I though you were talking about off grid. Now i see it was grid tie.
