New 18Kpv with the 1E1E firmware?

SS has determined it probably a stuck relay or firmware issue. But SS has been great to work with, they don’t stop until they get it resolved.

No grid boss

Yes

replacement for the fan issue.

The 18Kpv will power the loads in Off Grid Mode, but as soon as on grid is used all the Loads go dead.
Do you have the CTs installed? are they reversed?

Can you provide a photo of the CT installed location, please include the CT arrows and the direction pointing towards the inverter.

With a multimeter it’s measuring 240 volts.
Ours runs right at 250 on the graphs and 245-249 VAC on a meter.

Just one thought, any chance the Load breakers are flipped to the Off position inside the 18K's door?

Actually that can't be it if it will power the loads in off grid mode.

Yep sounds like they have updated the 18k to work with the Grid Boss and introduced a bug into software that was already working for non Gridboss use of the 18K.

I agree looks like the software is commanding opening one set of the 200 amp relays.

I am not changing my 18K software unless forced to.

Have you tried enabling and disabling Grid Boss mode both in the web portal and on the unit and seeing what happens?

What is connected to the gen port? Does removing that change anything?

The more I look at these pictures the more they frighten me, too many possibilities for errors here.

I tried that, gen port is AC Coupled inverter. I went ahead and installed the old 18Kpv to verify the wiring and it has Firmware FAAB 1B1C. And everything is working correctly. I like that SS let you return the old unit after receiving the replacement now.

Go figure, the fans on the old 18Kpv are not surging anymore.

Well that's it then, inverter number 3 is toast. Send it back and get your fourth one. On my third 18k here and, after watching your surging fans videos, I realize that mine does that too. I'm gonna hold onto it as long as I can to avoid being in the 3x RMA'ed 18k club with you.

Lol, I was starting to think I was the only one in the club. The 3rd inverter is going back today. The second inverter's fans started working correctly again, after sitting for so many days. So, I am back in the 2XRMA'ed club. Hopefully the fans don't give me anymore problems.
