New battery build

Just built my second 280Ah 24v battery for my boat. Envision grade B cells with a JK bms. I installed the cells in 1" cutting board material and cuts some handles as this is a heavy battery. There is a piece of 3mm acrylic that makes a lid to protect the cells from anything that might be dropped on it.
I charged up with a 15A 24v charger then swapped over to a bench top supply for the last bit. I let the JK do the balancing with its 2A active balancer. All good and ready to join the other battery in parallel.

What are the screws in the center, more sheathed all-thread? Did that mess with the rear bus bar?

Too bad about the JK BMS. 😜
There are 6 sheathed threaded rods holding the compression plates together.
I have been running the same JK bms for the last couple of years without problem. I moved this bms off my 105Ah 24v battery so I didn't need to buy a bms. If a better bms comes along with 2A active balancing I will swap them out but as yet, I haven't seen a better bms. These bms have 200A rating and work fine

I'm just giving you a hard time. 😉

I only use JBD and Daly's because 100% of my JK's have died on me within weeks of going in. They do make good range targets though. 😁

A friend had Daly BMS in his battery. Similar failure as you describe. Failures do happen, but so far the two JK bms I am running are working fine. I have a spare one just in case. They are cheap enough to do that and can be swapped in 5 mins.
