This is a new BMS with integrated
contactor in aliexpress. I was doing some reading from the attached manual, and it seems like it might be CAN enabled which would be utopia at this price point. It is hooked up to my battery and works. Questions:

How can I test this? My Victron inverter is on the way. I have access to arduino and electronic stuff like that.

The only port I see free is a two wire rs485. Could this be the physical connector for the CAN protocol?

I'd guess that 'optional' requires an additional module (and cost?) - I've never known of CAN to be on 485 but I've not worked with it much so could well be wrong!

I have never seen the CAN interface in stock. It has a seperate port, but you need the conversion box to use it.

Hi,
I have the same BMS and I dont know about CAN capabilities but the rs485 port that is free is not available on this bms according to https://www.lithiumbatterypcb.com/product/13s-to-20s-li-ion-or-lifepo4-smart-bms-relay-solution/

If you unscrew the aluminium plate on the top, you can unplug the bluetooth module and then connect the jbd-usb tools or any other serial to usb converter to set it up on the pc. (I used a prolific PL2303HX for 4,40€)
I found out that if you use the Overkill bms parameter sheets for some reason the bms will keep switching the relay off and on constantly, so you have to change the FET ctrl time to the highest value possible (20845s or so)

Maybe this port can also be used for CAN communication. Very interesting!
Here is a screenshot for the time setting in the JBD desktop app.

Hi mate I'm following this, I would also love a JBD with canbus capabilities. Did you get any further with the optional canbus feature?
