New DIY box from Docan

Does anyone have any information about this new DIY box from Docan? I think I'm going to order it, it comes with the JK PB2A16S20P BMS and seems like a decent value to protect the batteries

One thing I've noticed is it doesn't have ventilation holes like some of the other DIY boxes do, is it actually important? (I plan on climate controlling a little shed that will house the batteries and 6000XP)

And lastly, I know I've asked before but will the PB2A16S20P closed-loop communicate with the 6000XP as equally well as an EG4 battery?

Thanks!

I bought two of these one late last year and another one in February just before the tariffs hit. Their website is shut down can't order anything likely due to the 104% tariff says have to contract them. Haven't built either one yet I have all the batteries working on some concrete and solar panels right now.

Might be able to set it to emulate another battery which 6000xp supports works just as good to set it to lead acid do open loop once you get the settings right the JK balances everything perfectly. Currently I have a box I built with a JK in open loop batteries charge right to the proper voltage no issues. I have solar Assistant connected to my JK BMS. The 6000xp requires you to use the internet to see anything I don't want China having a way to blow up my inverter when they get upset.

These are a brand new box they just started selling, it has a DC breaker, the older ones don't (according to Amy)

Their website isn't down for me?

I ordered (2) of these instead. AMPBOX (jag25.com)
AMPBOX
Ships from California.
I will post more once delivered & polpulated with cells.
That's an interesting box! I haven't seen those before. I notice the bus bars are for the double terminal cells, do you have those?

Wasn't down when you go to order instead of allowing you to place the order you can't put in shipping information says to contact them. I bought all my stuff through Jenny Wu directly. The DIY boxes are the newer ones use the studs instead of the pushing connector I guess they had trouble with melting the plastic bulk head connector before.

jk bms will do closed loop with luxpower or with pylon options. There may be others. The latest firmwares have tweaks related to charging and reporting 100%. Off grid garage has videos on them.

Agreed about terminals. Relatively easy to replace terminals.
For me this box checks ✅ most of my needs.
And it’s ships from USA.
Im nervously awaiting boxes I ordered from Aliexpress last month… not sure they will arrive thanks to the tariff wars. I will seek a refund if they try to hit me with 145% tariff on them! No thanks, refund please.

Except looks like a rectangle cut out not sure, I wonder what other dual hole case terminal would drop in.

I thought that was an issue and talked to Amy last night about it, once I put in my shipping information fully it let me check out (but i haven't purchased yet)

If they honor the price should be good to go. I built my own box out steel I got shear cut from a local supplier I welded it put casters on it. It ended up lot bigger then it needed to be I made lot of other mistakes along the way. These DIY boxes are much better deal with the BMS only saving about $150 building one maybe even less all the parts needed over and above the BMS adds up more then you think. I must have bought 3 different bulkheads connectors off Amazon. Sure there is some quality issue with the DIY box but it can be managed easily. I plan on daisy chaining 2 boxes with 30kwh of batteries use a Class T fuse at 150 amps. Single 6000xp can only pull 125 amps put a smaller fuse using 1/0 wire.

Doesn't offer compression and is significantly overpriced, I will pass and continue to make my own.
It’s been proven by Will Prowse and OffGridGarage that compression is essentially meaningless though, with capacity tests to verify (from offgridgarage) this is my understanding at least

I think you're misunderstanding both will's and offgridgarage video's on compression, you can physically damage them by using them without compression.

Your bus bars don't expand, what happens if your terminal post snaps off because your battery swelled?

These boxes are designed so the batteries don't move when they swell just not compressed. They have extra fiberglass insulators take up any room make them tight enough.
