A new firmware update that resolves the communication issue on the EG4 Monitor Portal between the LifePower4 V2 and the LifePower4 V1 is now available. This update corrects the inaccurate 51% SOC reading previously shown on the portal, ensuring accurate SOC reporting for both battery versions.

Does this also fix the compatibility issue with some eg4 inverters and the lifepower v2?

This is through Facebook? I'm getting redirected with this link to something through Facebook. Not sure why exactly.

We apologize for the confusion, thank you for pointing this out. We adjusted the link.

Communication with legacy inverters was fixed prior with firmware Z02T04.

RS485: Z02T04

  • Corrected the EG4 RS485 inverter protocol for the following inverters: EG4 3000EHV, EG4 6000EX, EG4 6500EX
Do the v2 ship currently with an updated RS485 cable or will they still need to be clipped to pins 7 and 8 to communicate with the v1’s?

Help! I can't get pass the reset bms. I am just supposed to turn off and back on the bms switch. When I do that nothing happens.

I having trouble updating the Lifepower V2 battery (to get rid of the 51%). I get to the Please Reset the BMS. I reset the BMS and it does nothing. I contacted Signature Solar for technical support last week and have not heard back. Does anyone know what cable I should use or if there is anything else I can try? Thank you in advance.

Hi! This has been resolved! EG4 released this yesterday :)

Thank you for your patience and valuable feedback as we continue to enhance our products!

I saw a post that said to beware If they have a serial number/version range for the update, be sure that you adhere to it. Wrong updates can brick a device. I looked briefly at the documentation in the zip file and I can't see any such range mentioned. To be safe...don't like bricks!...Can you tell me if there is such a range on this update? Thanks again.

I would really be impressed to see new firmware that lets all the batteries communicate to the EG4-6000xp inverters without special cables, special firmware and jumping thru hoops then saying a special prayer that it works. :fp2:eek:

Does the EG4 LifePower4 V2 have the same pinout on the two battery to battery RJ45 jacks as the EG4 LifePower4 V1.
The EG4 LifePower4 V1 uses pins 7&8 as one RS485 bus for battery to battery communications running at 19200 baud and uses pins 1&2 as a second independent RS485 bus running a 9600 baud for BMS to Inverter communications (or Solar Assistant or BMS_Test)

Yes, it should be the same!

However since I do not own an EG4 LifePower4 V2 and folks on this forum do. Could you provide so technical assistance.

For example; IF the V2 supports the same commands as the V1 on the pins 1&2 RS485 bus then the BMS_Test (not BMS_Tools) software should be able to connect to the V2 Battery to Battery (Battery-Comm ports) using an RS485 to USB converter (using pins 1&2) and pull data.

I am certainly interested in the purchase of some V2 batteries to add capacity and also to eliminate my EG4 Communications Hub.
