No, you can with grid tie only, no battery.Does the battery system have to be included in the interconnection application?
Officially? You would have to get a new permit from the AHJ to add batteries to a solar system and pass the code in force at that time. What happens if one permits for grid tie then adds batteries later?
Ok that's what i thought. I didn't realize people were getting new permits for batteries, or making the process more difficult by permitting batteriesNo, you can with grid tie only, no battery.

Unofficially? Just add them. You aren't changing the basic terms of the interconnection agreement and if you don't do battery to grid sell back at night, the utility will never know. Some AHJs are really picky about battery systems, so building a system without them can reduce your regulatory hassles.

Not 10 mm? M10-1.5?UPDATE: 3/8
Not that I know of. The manual suggests that ac coupling is not yet implementedAlso, another random question. Has anyone AC coupled one of these, with other growatt products?

I think you mentioned it but I don't remember why you're not using the included ctsFurther update: Even though the manual says the inverter supports an energy meter, it does not at the current time. After spending a significant amount of time working with tech support, basically they're going to look into it, but otherwise, it doesn't work. So don't plan on using Zero Export mode with an energy meter, you'd have to do it with the CTs included with the inverter.
Distance from the inverters to where the line side tap is locatedI think you mentioned it but I don't remember why you're not using the included cts
What kind of distance? I've read you can extend ct powers up to 100ft and even saw some that can go up to 325 ftDistance from the inverters to where the line side tap is located

Absolutely right. Growatt is making what could be a game changing inverter, just another "betabox"Probably end up being around 65 ft to run wires. I may look into it. Still doesn’t excuse the fact that the manual says you can use a meter

Oh boy. Here a a few of the worst problems. What other issues are you having?
I have the model with the built in circuit breakers and had to contact Signature Solar who got a firmware update that I installed on the inverter and then I had a new icon on the screen at the top center, But it did not show power flow. That did allow me to use my AC coupled solar. But then ran into an issue when I installed 4 new solar panels in series and connected them to the PV1 + and - inputs. When I did that I lost the new icon at the top of the screen and now my AC coupled solar is not sending any power at all, AND the new solar panels connected to the PV1 is only showing 122 watts and 0.8 Adc and also had 0.7 Adc on PV2 and 0.6 Adc on PV3. So I tried connecting to PV2 and same thing. Only 110 watts on PV2, and it showed Adc on all 3 PV inputs. I hope they get the software bugs worked out soon. Also, another random question. Has anyone AC coupled one of these, with other growatt products?
I got mine about 2 weeks ago and it is nice having the CBs already in place. But the software is still not working correctly even after they sent me a firmware update to enable the AC coupled solar into the GEN ports. It was working for a little while but as soon as I added 4 new solar panels connected to the PV inputs the icon for the AC coupled solar went away and now I am trying to get it back. Also PV input solder is only showing 122 watts even with full sunlight and panels are 400 watts each. Also only getting 0.7 AdcIn typical Growatt fashion, it appears that there is already a new model/variant of the inverter. Based on the data sheet, they're referring to it as the SPH 10000TL-HU-US(B).
Appears to have built in circuit breakers...
If you put a multimeter on your Gen inputs does it show voltage and frequency?I got mine about 2 weeks ago and it is nice having the CBs already in place. This is the new icon I had after installing the firmware update on the GroWatt inverter. It was there but not showing any power flowing from it, but I know it was working since my AC coupled solar was showing power production. Today when I tried to get my new DC solar working I lost the icon and my AC coupled solar stopped production and nothing I tried got the icon back. So now I have no AC coupled solar and the DC solar only produces 122 wats of power.
