Guys, I bought used 14.4v medical batteries (NL2044AQ22 REV 1.3 made by INSPIRED ENERGY) from eBay. There is a warning that says "charge only with an(sic) SMBUS LEVEL 3 SMART CHARGER. I did an ugly quick study on this technology at BATTERY UNIVERSITY. I can only get so much info online about my batteries. I know I need a CH series charger from Inspired, but don't know the part number. Customer service sent me to their tech dept, but they won't return my message. The battery has a 5 blade connector with temp, data and clock, and there is some duel slave/ master wizardry going on between the chips in the battery and charger.. Dudes, I was going for a DIY cheap 24v ebike battery, planning just to put two in series. Any advice?

Can you remove the add-on connectors and get down to the basic battery terminals? What battery chemistry is this? As long as you can get the recommended/required charge profile, a programmable charger should work.
