New Klein CL380 damaged?

I recently bought a CL380 from Amazon and when I got it I noticed that the box was already open. Concerned, I tested all the functions of the meter and everything seemed to work just fine. I THEN noticed that each test lead has an arc-like burn mark on them. It makes me wonder if someone didn't know what they were doing and touched something with the leads that they weren't supposed too.

Anyway, the meter seems to work fine, but I don't know if whatever happened could cause some sort of internal unit damage or cause it to read inaccurately??

I can return it for free via Amazon. I just hate having to go through the process.

What would you guys do?

I just learned about the Kohls option. Don't even need to package it, they do it for you! Decided to return it. Future-self would be unhappy if I didn't
