New Sol Ark 5k-1p-N

Reviving old thread: Now priced at $3500.

Pro's for me:
Able to mount in -13F degree environment
Wide battery charging adjustment capability up to 62 volts with adjustable low battery recovery recharge voltage
Able to accept non inverter generator AC input
2 -MPPT inputs with high VOC limit
UL 1741 listed, could grid tie in future if power becomes available.

Con's:
High initial cost
Needs wi-fi to monitor, not sure if cell phone can monitor without wi-fi?

We have no wi-fi in our area, barely have any off air antenna service for TV.

I am sure there is some pro's or con's I am missing.

The lack of the internal circuit breaker protections seems like a missed opportunity for Sol-Ark at this entry level. Especially in terms of ease of installation.
  • AC in
  • Gen in
  • AC out

@saggys
Wi-Fi is not the same as an internet connection. Will it work over a wi-fi local area network only? Don't know, just asking? If you set up a LAN with wi-fi? Or does the unit have to report to their server to display the data to you? With Midnite Classics SCCs and Schneider SW inverters I can view and control everything just over the LAN.

My communication platform understanding stopped at serial and fiber, hardwired stuff. I need to gain a better understanding of wireless stuff.
