Hi
Looking for advice.

I am planning to install solar and battery to my farmhouse.

I cannot install on the roof due to the age of building so i am planning to mount on a remote barn approx 50m from fuse board. (in roof and in underground ducting)

I am looking for a solar system that obviously supplies inverter with option of adding a battery system.. I am looking at approx 5kwh of battery and 3.5 kwh solar at the moment.

Questions.

1. Any suggestions on type of solar panel, should I be looking at AC or DC panels ?
2. I want to wire panels in seperate groups. maybe with micro inverters. ?
3. Distance to the fuse board 50 m what type of cabling?
4. Any suggestion on inverter types and lithium batteries.

I intend to source and fit panels , cabling and inverters myself with my local electrician connecting up to the system ( which basically means i do the donkey work , they do the skilled work)

I have fitted panels and run all cabling for an offgrid system before, so i am not a novice. That was all with a victron system.

Thank you for any advice.

Panels in their native state are DC. Add a Micro Inverter to get AC.

Strings are fine into their own MPPT. I would suggest trying to avoid micro inverters.

Depends upon AMPs.

Victron is good, but expensive. Don't know what else you have access to in the UK.
