I have pretty good hands-on skills and do most projects around the house myself. For example, I installed heat pumps throughout the house by myself. I am considering purchasing a 14.6kw DIY system from a company called solarwarehouse.com but have read that they can be difficult to get support from after a sale has been made. So, I was wondering if it genuinely is pretty easy to install this equipment with basic DIY skills (I am good with calling on my local electrician for making final connections)?

Nothing about it is really technically challenging if the systems is already designed for you. Plug the stuff in and you're good to go.

However, I recommend a more thorough understanding of how your inverters work, what are their input voltages, amperages, and watts, how your battery works, what voltages your panels produce, what your bms amperage is rated at. This can give you a more thorough understanding of what to expect, what goes wrong, and how to fix it when it does go wrong.

14.6kw panels won't make 14.6kw unless they're south facing and at optimal tilt for the time of year. Panels are very sensitive to shade and heat.

The more you look into it, the more questions you'll have. Keep asking questions.

Grid Tied, or Off Grid?
If Grid Tied, I'd investigate what is what regarding your local Utility as far as limits and requirements.

Roof Mount or Ground Mount for the panels?
