howdy friends

I have a pallet of new/unused LG E78 2P12S batteries available.

here's a link covers most of the specs. https://evolveelectrics.com/product...duNc0di4rB9rl65X7z4XVwVwS6S1YBm5ibEoJwKtVNSbF

and the LG data sheet : https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1820/0269/files/LGES_spec_sheet_modules_2022.pdf?v=1740191716

these are for local pickup, I'm not much interested in shipping. if you're at a distance hire a cheap u-haul or such and take a modest road-trip to lovely Big Sur ! weight of pallet is about 1300 lbs so most 1/2 ton trucks can manage.

hey there gang

original poster here, genuinely curious at so little interest. these are some solid batteries for what I was thinking was a fair price but without a single nibble or comment I'm asking for feedback, please.

fwiw take a look at image #5 in the first link/listing, that's one rocking battery bank !

i've been off-grid and DIY since 1991, thought I understood value and sourcing materials but with that ( otherwise generally lovely ) sound of crickets I'm scratching my head.

anyway, let me know your thoughts, asking for and open to constructive info and opinions

cheers !

that could be due to a few factors:
- these are NMC cells, more 'adventurous' than LFP. Any associated 'research' would cost extra money.
- equivalent brand new LFP from reputable supplier would cost less shipped to the door

12s

36 V – 51 V

Operating Voltage Range

Does not mesh well with inverters most of us have.
Some people have cut apart packs, but most either use loose cells or modules that are the voltage they want can be series connected for that.
e.g. 16s, 8s, or 4s LiFePO4 fits 48V applications.

LG NCM cells are basically a ticking time bomb just a matter of when, not if.

And the voltage range of these means only a small number of inverters could make use of them.

hello friends

thanks for the info and input, much appreciated.

saw the $200 post, seemed a dead end. laughing, maybe that's that's the price point

yes regards obscure voltage/doesn't mesh with most ( existing ) systems. I had intended to use these in fresh system builds so integration less of a issue, but yes, it's a factor of course.

interesting input that NCM cells are perilous. I hadn't found info indicating such, obviously will research deeper. would welcome links to such info if it's easy

appreciate suggestion to engage other-than-home power option, thanks for link

plans and life present changes and so we move forward.
