newpowa 360w panels- Amazon

just got some box cutters to tear through the wrapping.

Then I got pulled into a puzzle by the family.

I promise to take pics and test and share what I learn about Newpowa 360w panels.

It just comes as a 2nd priority to the kids

thanks for the info on time of day.

Curious, which mountains. bet you have gorgeous sunrises or eclipsing of the moutains.

Here is the question, do I series 6 panels together? The panels have an VoC of 40.79. totalling 246v

6s1p= 246v 2160w

or do I look at the Vmp of 33.7v and series connect 7 panels for a total of 235v.

7s1p= 235v 2520w

I guess I could also 4s2p the panels.
163v 2880w
At -15⁰ C your Voc will be above 44v. x6 = 264v. Poof. White smoke.

Edit. I wouldn't go more than 5s.

I live in the foothills 4 miles from Post Oregon in the Central Oregon high desert. recorded population about 40. But I’m sure there is more. There are people squatting all over out here in RV’s and little cabins.

When I ordered my fist 10 panels the seller requested I open and check every panel before signing the shippers paperwork. They said if any are damaged it makes it real hard to claim against the shipping company at a later date.

Ok. I tested a panel. 30min ago and just now.

730pm 35v .5a
8pm 33v .15-.17a

But look at where the sun is. It is around the other side of the house. 8 of these could charge a cell phone right now. ?

I'm gonna test again tomorrow at lunch. test the other 7 too.

Im excited to finally get this project started.

4s1p right now but I need to buy an AIO.

heres an update @730 this morning

38.1v. @ 7.08a. 270w
8 panels = 20160w

hopefully I can get closer to the advertised 360w/panel. vs 270w/panel

then the clouds came in

36.4v @ 1.35a. 49w. (ouch, big drop)
8 panels = 192w. on clouding mornings

Still need to finish unwrapping the other panels and test them over lunch with stepdad.

If I were to fully document with pics, testing, quality checks, etc for a review of these panels, what should I specifically look at/for and more specifically test?

I have not ordered the AIO yet but I do have a Renology 40a MPPT SCC. I also have 12v inverters.

Kevin

update. 11am

36.3v @ 10.45a, 380w

or 1520w in 4s1p. or 3040w in 4s2p array

and surprisingly

34.5v @ 10.92a, 376w. with cardboard covering about 25% of the panel. WOW.

I also observed big sparks when testing with the volt meter in direct sun. Hence, the cardboard to reduce the power and shock.

can I put a safety device on each panel or micro inverters or something before the AIO?

Did not realize the hazards of just one large panel.

clouds overhead.

35.4v @ 1.89a. 67w. or 536w behind clouds.
