I am building an system with the intent to power 2 rooms in the home (computers and electronics) when the grid is available. During outages, the goal will shift to primarily power 2 window AC units.
System consists of Jinko Eagle array, Ecoworthy combiner with Fuserish lightning arrestor, and Anker Solix F3800.
I have grounding lugs on each side of each PV frame and each side of the aluminum stand. I am planning to run solid copper wire through each lug, terminating in the combiner box. I plan to also run another solid copper wire from the combiner box to a ground rod. Can I use a new ground rod for this, or do I need to run the copper wire to the existing rod that was driven for grid power when the house was built? The location where the existing rod is probably located is much further away than where I was planning to drive the new rod.
Thanks!
