One battery to rule them all !!

"Companies must adopt Positec’s existing 20V PowerShare platform by January 1, 2026."

I've got tools in the 40V and 56V range.

"Positec has also committed to developing 24V, 40V, 60V, and 80V solutions for the DOGE battery mandate. "

OK, they're trying.
Remember those inverter/server rack battery compatibility issues? Let's see if this comes out better.

Wonder if we will see more catastrophic failures.

I think it may well be an improvement…maybe it will also help limit some of the totally counterfeit battery’s being sold nowdays , I have thrown or given away probably a dozen or more great condition battery power tools in the last 20 years because of inconsistency of battery manufacturing . The changed the batts , the quit making them, changed voltage or chemistry or whatever else reason…..

Mikita - dewalt- Sthill- millwalkii- etc..etc.etc…they all do it…it’s simply wasteful of my money.

Looked around to see if this is real or not and found it was an april fools joke.

Even just on my Milwaukee tools I have M12 and M18 and wouldn't dream of having it any other way. The M12 is for fine small work and the M18 is for the heavy stuff.

On top of that I wouldn't want any of the other tools battery designs. I probably own one of every manufacturer and only use my Milwaukee cordless tools. So if they want to force adopting Milwaukee's battery types to everyone else I'm fine with that but I don't want the batteries that other power tools use.

Thankfully it was a joke !
