Hi everyone,

I'm a solar newbie in Iowa looking to build a ground-mount solar setup using a Pecron E3600LFP portable power station and URECO 445W solar panels.

Here's some information about the equipment:
My question:

Knowing that Iowa winters can cause voltage drops, how many URECO panels can I safely connect to the Pecron E3600LFP to maximize its 2400W solar input capacity?

Any additional tips for a solar beginner like myself would be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to the forum.

I'm not sure where you got the winters will cause voltage drops, if you're referring to the VOC of the panels cold temps will actually cause it to increase.

There are a few calculators online that you can use to figure out the VOC at your record cold temps.

A good thread on the subject here https://diysolarforum.com/threads/maximum-open-circuit-voltage-calculator.4500/

A different calculator I found quickly.

I'm curious as to why you are looking at a portable unit like that? There should be significant savings building out your own.

OK It's easy. You just need to ensure that the voltage is within the specified range. According to your panel data, you can connect 3 panels in series for each XT60 input port of E3600LFP. Buy 6 panels in total and you can get a maximum input of 2400W. However, it depends on the conversion capacity of your panel. Some are 70-80%, and the highest I have seen is 85%.
