Our NEW GO-TO LiFePO4 vendor...09.20.21

$140-$160 is around the price for Grade A EV quality cells from EVE right now because of the covid shenanigans. From Luyuan they are $148 or something so this seems to make sense. I wonder if Docan will start to provide test reports...
148 would be a steal but with shipping, bs Alibaba transaction fee and sales tax to Texas it is $215/cell + 90 day wait.

On 5/24/22 I ordered ( 8 ) 280K cells from Docan out of their Houston warehouse. On 5/27/22 I received the shipment in four boxes. The final price including all shipping and transaction fees was $156.93 per cell.

All boxes and cells were in good condition with no physical blemishes. All voltages were withing 0.01V and the QR codes showed that they were all from the same plant and one of two production lines and produced within 5 days of each other. I haven't yet done further testing because I am still waiting for equipment from other courses.

Good to hear that someone has got some good products from Docan. So many issues lately, I thought they are going down hill. The larger the company gets, the more problems seem to crop up. Over time, good companies learn from them and polish their practices. Some companies don't, change their name, and start over again.

Statistically it could be the same percentage but the increase in "problems" could just be consistent with the increase in volume. I can think of at least three threads in which the titles of the threads were misleading in terms of the significance of the problems. I have not bought from them so I do not have a dog in this fight. I am thankful that someone has invested in inventory in the US.

I have 16 more cells delivering this week, from Houston. I'll be sure to update if there are issues. Past orders have had none.

Actually this literally the same ark many companies out of china,

They start off with good parts, people are happy, they get big, and towards the end the start sending out junk.

2 years ago, the big company was Xuba, everyone loved them, and even the OG Amy, Amy Wan was there employee... then the issues started and people started getting questionable cells.

Basaen and QSU, Dongguan Lighting are the same boat, about a year ago all you would hear about is rosses and praises, now not so much.

Then earlier this year Docan was all the rage, well clealry its not the case now, people are getting bad stuff.

So I think its the strategy, cherry pick items for influencers early adopters, and then mass flood with junk once the orders start coming in.

In the end these are all grade B cells and always have been, so you get what you can get and just accept.

There are grade Vendors but the price is 2x so many people just deal with the grade B as its good enough.

Do you mean Docun is now so bad as xuba and Basen....etc ? I didn't see any proof yet but i can't check all the post in this forum !
I m asking because i was planing to order from there , so i ll better maybe wait ?

I just unboxed another 16 230ah cells I ordered through Jenny last week. There was some minor damage to packaging, other than that all cells look fine with no damage.
I did notice the IR of the cells is labeled differently some are. 23 others .24, also the JBD BMS is a different model than last order even though I requested the same.
It appears to still be a contactor based BMS with a large cover and protected contactor.
Should I be concerned with the differences in IR or BMS differences? I'll message Jenny as well, wanted some expert feedback first.
All cells are between 3.294V and 3.300V with the majority being 3.299.
Pics for all that reading, sorry they aren't uploading in the same order I selected them.

First 8 up for initial balance charge. I mixed some of the 0.23 and 0.24 IR labeled cells.
ALWAYS VERIFY THE VOLTAGE OF YOUR POWER SUPPLY...

Did those ship from TX? What are the date of manufacture of the QR codes?

The cells that I recieved from the Houston warehouse on 6/9/22 had QR code manufacture dates that ranged from 12/21/21 to 123/29/21.

Yes, shipped from TX. I ordered them through Jenny late on the 21st, they arrived yesterday. I'll check the codes here in a bit and report back.

Edit bunch of photos below. All appear to be late '21. The cells that are numbered are the codes from the first pack I built earlier this year.
Anyone else have codes that are hard to read/scraped?
Wow I forgot how slow they charge in parallel

That is the newer JBD contactor BMS. I wouldn't worry about it being different.

Just FYI .. The 64 cells (32 boxes) that I ordered from China (Docan Power) on 6/4 just showed up today. Not bad ... less than 30 days. UPS delivered them before I even got an email that they were coming.

Roy
They must have had them packed up and ready to load on the ship, and threw them over and onto the ship from the dock as the ship was pulling away! :ROFLMAO:
