Thank you for your reply. Will check. What do people do during outage? Forget about dryer? The only dryer I'd even consider running off a powerstation would be a heat pump type. Resistive heating is never going to be practical. Even one with a beefy battery/external add one battery is going to be run dead flat drying a load with resistive. Is 5600W the actual draw from the outlet or the rated drying power? Check the product owner's manual to see what it draws from the outlet. A heat pump dryer may only draw 700W.
Solar powered clothes dryer.
Thank you for rreplying. Trying to figure out two needed p.s. as freezer and refrigerators are are in different parts of house. The only dryer I'd even consider running off a powerstation would be a heat pump type. I have 6kwh avg here in Ca. Plenty for clothes line. Will do. Should have known at my age (84) but w/o a woman around. If the weather doesn't suit hanging clothes on a line outside, maybe hang them in the carport and have a fan blowing over them. No good if you have freezing temperatures though.
Forgot you guys have gas fired dryers too. If that is your type the electrical draw would just be the drum motor so check the electrical specs in the owners manual.
Assuming its just a few hours or so the gas dryer could be considered a non critical load. Especially if you have a limited battery capacity, could be considered a luxury load.Thank you for your reply. Will check. What do people do during outage? Forget about dryer?
Thank you. That's what I have been doing and will continue ue to do.Assuming its just a few hours or so the gas dryer could be considered a non critical load. Especially if you have a limited battery capacity, could be considered a luxury load.
Focus on your fridge, freezer, network gear, etc first. Then maybe air fryer, induction hot plate, microwave etc.
In the old days they let it freeze dry on the line. Than brought it in to finish off at the wood stove. If the weather doesn't suit hanging clothes on a line outside, maybe hang them in the carport and have a fan blowing over them. No good if you have freezing temperatures though.
Could make it as simple as extension cords out to some appliances especially if wife isn't there to yell about cords in hallways.Thank you for rreplying. Trying to figure out two needed p.s. as freezer and refrigerators are are in different parts of house.
Exactly why I need 2 power stations. Not interested in polarizing whole house just back up when power goes out.Could make it as simple as extension cords out to some appliances especially if wife isn't there to yell about cords in hallways.
Just watch out on the drum startup surge of a propane dryer, mine would surge to 2700VA, right on the edge of my transformer based phoenix 48/1200, however total failure to start with my hf delta 2 max rated for 2400W.Switch to propane/gas and you have a chance of running off a power station. Those staying to get a heat pump water heater..they take like 3x the time per load, cost 2x as much so not saving much. There also maintenance hogs.
Yup, our Multiplus 3000 lets out a little buzz when we hit the start button on the dryer but it runs fine. But I was really surprised at how much juice the ignitor uses to light the flame.Just watch out on the drum startup surge of a propane dryer, mine would surge to 2700VA, right on the edge of my transformer based phoenix 48/1200, however total failure to start with my hf delta 2 max rated for 2400W.
