I have a six panel array dedicated to a water heater. The panels are 290 watts each. One of the panels has a burned out cell and is not producing any voltage. I assume they are connected in series since there is no voltage from the array. The system is about 7 years old. I cannot find an exact replacement. I have found a 280 watt panel made by a different manufacturer. Would this be a suitable replacement to get it back up and running?

Ideally, you match current. So if your old panels had a max power current of X, then new one should be near that number.

Matching voltage or watts isn't as important for a series arrangement.

You didn't post spec sheets or model numbers of the panels, so we have no way to check this for you. Specifics matter.

Thank you sir. That’s exactly what I needed to know. I will get that info pulled together and hopefully get you to take another look at it. Again, thank you so much.
