I am buying the MPP LV5048 to connect my solar system too and need to know what size Panel Box to get for the breakers. I know this sounds like a dumb question but I just stuck if I need to get a 60A or 100A breaker box to wire everything into.... please help.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums!

I'm probably just not understanding.... but possibly one of these answers will help...

The AC load center physical size is based on the number of circuits you want to run, each circuit will need a single or double slot.

The maximum a breaker can be is ~80% of the maximum ampacity of the wire. But more often it's less than that, generally just over what you expect to be on the circuit.

Assuming an LV5048 is 5 kW and 48V and you're asking about a DC breaker... then 5000 / 48 x 1.2 = 125 amps. Use a NEC ampacity table for your wire type to determine the appropriate minimum gauge.
