Power Production This Time of Year!

19.8 kWh on Wednesday, 19.5 kWh on Thursday. Both days clear and cool. Highest Production Ever® in this configuration ... 3600 watts of solar pointing mostly SE.
Yes I had 27.5kwh yesterday .. (Thursday) was fantastic .. Let hope for another record day today! (Except I don't have anyplace to store it.. need a solar bag of holding-check who the real geeks are)

It has been just cool enough at night to run a little heat. That gets the 20kWh of batteries down to about 40% state of charge at night. Then we run whatever other loads we can during the day while charging. Still manage to fill up the batteries to 95%+.

Yesterday was a new record for me as well, readjusted the angle 4* flatter from 58* to 54* and placed some of the mylar reflective chrome under the strings. 64.8 KWH Woohoo

The 3rd of March was a rainy one and only 9.5 KWH.

Today is mostly sunny, looking good so far.

I woke up this morning it was 54f in the living area... Thank goodness for the heat pump, 1.44kwh warming me up .. lol .. So I had the wife running a/c at 61f in bedroom using .69kwh all night, and me using 1.44kwh in the morning to heat, funny how these things work .. Being in central Florida I just don't think about using or setting heat, it was 53f last night, this is the bitter cold part of the winter for us .. :ROFLMAO: but today .. wow it is beautiful as all get-out..

We run our ducted Daikins 24/7. Heat=62F Cool=70F. Set them and forget them. Change 4 filters on the air returns every 3 months. We generate enough energy to still export when outside temps are between 32F and 95F. 2,800 sq ft, 2 story, very tight energy efficient newer construction. Fortunate to have been able to design in the energy efficiency with the custom build.

After a strong end to February, this cyclone off the east coast of Australia, now a tropical low, has been pretty dismal for solar PV this past week:

Yesterday, was cloudy and rainy. Turned down the bitcoin miner, should have let it run hotter overnight. Today I cranked it up at 25%SOC. I guess I need another bitcoin miner, tweaked the EV charger/SOC back a little earlier for tomorrow. I drove the EV all week without a charge, coasted into the driveway Friday in "turtle mode" at 2%. I did not hit the allow threshold until a little before noon, and then 7KW + 3.3KW of arbitrary loading still allowed me to hit 100% a little before 1500. I'm at 123KW of production at 1600. I was hoping to check peak output. I need to create some database tables to set my SOC/TOD allow numbers more dynamically, winter, spring, summer, fall, ... Supposed to be cloudy/rainy again Tue and Thu this coming week. I want to make this hands off... Adding a mini-split for the power / bitcoin room, it will change the dynamic yet again.

I'm now at the stage where even on a cloudy day I generate enough to cover my daily requirements. The heat pump is running (nice sunny day today) making hot water from the excess, some of it goes to the batteries (I expect them to reach full state of charge for the first time this year by the end of the month), and life is good.

Sure enough, solar production halted at 1:54 PM.
In the summer, the two A/Cs would be running, so those loads will help significantly to prevent this.

But at this time of year at 70 degrees F, just small household loads are all I've got.
Quick, run the hot water! (No, I'm not doing that).

Now that is a fantastic day of solar .. you know how hard I had to work to keep the batteries from getting full. I emptied hot water take 5 times for starts.. and both ac heat pumps ran all day.. ended at 98% .. but was fantastic production day … View attachment 286579
How many gallons of water was wasted after heating it up 5 times?

How do you waste water? It is always recycled, in here, out there, and back in .. But I have a 10 gal tank, how much does it take to cool is down? IDK, could be 10 gals or 20gals.. it's adding cold to hot, when does it dilute to a point the facet was turned off and how fast could it keep up.. I really do not know the answer..

55.7kWh just yesterday. Details below in sig.
Oh, I meant the bi facial array was producing @ 16% above it's 14.4 KW rated output for a little bit as the clouds moved in and out 61.6 KWH that day.

It wasn't 4 PM either, having the typical EG 4 Clock set fun, that never seems to land correctly.
Hoping for the first over 70 KWH day soon.

Maybe cloud edge effect that day?

Today lots of rain may not even make 10 KWH over the whole day.

My production doesn't look as impressive as that, I can't seem to use enough solar during the day. My arrays are still on winter tilt at 60 degrees and my batteries are usually fully charged by 11:30 - 12:00. I tell my wife to run everything she can but solar drops off in the afternoon. I guess I ned to add more loads.Screenshot 2025-03-21 185039.png
