Powering large loads with a 100A BMS and Relay

Hi all!

I remember hearing a while back that you can power large loads from your batteries, even if you have a small BMS, by powering a relay with the bms output. Is this a viable and/or recommended approach, could anyone elaborate on the set-up? I have a 100A Daly Smart BMS that cuts out when I try to run an 80A load and was hoping this may be a good work-around.

Thanks in advance!

Is that load an inverter?
If yes please post a link.
It might be that your bms has support for remote switching which is a better option than a high current relay(contactor).
Contactors are more expensive but can be a viable option.

The picture is too small for me to see clearly but it looks like your inverter is controlled by a simple switch.
This video will explain how to put a solid state relay in series with that switch.
