Hi Group, (New to solar)
New project at hand here.
Playing with a small system and seeing if I don't light up a fire or - Simply just make a smart simple installation..
My goal. Off grid inverter to run a few mini splits in hot Phoenix Arizona
Purchased rec 310w 72 cell 48v panels - I'll list the specs,
45.3 voc, 6.80 amps
Inverter states 145v max pv voltage.
My Idea..
3 - 310 watt panels, 48 volts- wired in series
x 3 more sets of 310 panels wired in series then both connected in parallel
to equal 136 +/- volts /and 13.6 amps per string.
so a total of 2 strings - for starts
My end goal is to have 4 strings of 12 / total 310 w /panels in a form of a combiner box..
But here is my main question.. If i am calculating correctly....
Start off with 2 strings set up in 3s and attach to each input on the combiner box?..
1. If I add 2 strings like this, will the combiner box place them in parallel automatically?
2. Is this eco-worthy a box to consider?? I had already purchased it.. (Returnable if not necessary)
3. Or how would one combine stings into parallel???
can I use this eco-worthy ( See below)
Also, if my thinking is not correct.. can one please provide a simple suggestion of how to properly wire, and should I consider inline fuses instead????
Thank you forum, eager to set up and test..
running 10 gauge pv wires as well
