I just fired up my Van electrical system for the first time and was very surprised by the size of the transient in spite of using the REC BMS Precharge unit set to 11 seconds. System: 24V 16 EVE 280AH cells in a 2P-8S configuration. Inverter is Multiplus 3000. The yellow trace is a probe measuring across a 50mv/500A shunt on the battery negative. Purple is system voltage from the main contactor to negative bus. The precharge only gets the system up to about 10V before the contactor shuts.
I'm planning to improve by driving a relay with the REC preharge sys+ to cut in a 3.9 ohm 24W resistor. Any thoughts on that would be appreciated. In any case I thought the data would be of interest.
