Received an order of 16 cells for a battery build. Each terminal has a green protector with a sticky substance attaching it to each terminal. Is there a recommended glue remover I should use to remove the substance that won't damage the terminal face? I don't want to use too harsh of a solvent that could possibly etch the surface of the terminal.

Also, I am planning on using a thin layer of nolox between the terminal and each busbar (tinned copper). Should I also use a thin layer between the bus bar and the bms lead, or just install it dry on top of the bus bar then torque everything down?

I am sorry, but I have to ask, who did you order from? that is so back asswards as to be unbelieveable.

as far as the glue? acetone almost every form of rubber cement and glue will come off quickly with it. do not worry about etching the surface of the pad, when you put nolox on if you read the directions they advise applying it with a wire brush... it cleans the flash corrosion off while you are simultaneously coating the material with an ox blocker... just keep it away form the blue film it will remove the glue that holds that on as well.

edited for clarity: keep the acetone away form the blue film

Wow, I don't think I ever saw anything like it. Putting paper discs on top and gluing them too, why? I too am curious who the seller is.

Were these used cells? Did they come in factory packaging?

i bet he pulls them off and finds sanding marks where they sanded off the old corrosion... I think they are pull offs from a prime mover like a fork or bus. my first couple of sets of CALB's were. took me some work to get the terminals square to the cell bodies and each other.

Sorry for the long wait for a reply. Life gets in the way sometimes...

I purchased these batteries new from Battery Hookup.

Once I pulled them off to clean with acetone and cotton swabs, the terminal surface was nice and clean. No evidence of any previous sanding, etc.
