Big changes are coming to our industry, and EG4 is ready! 🇺🇸🔋

🔹 China Tariffs & Pricing Transparency
With 10% tariffs now in effect, some may play pricing games—but not us. We believe in transparency. As costs shift, we’ll adapt responsibly, ensuring fair and sustainable pricing rather than artificial inflation.

🔹 Building in America, Investing in the Future
For the past year, our 300,000+ sq. ft. factory in Dallas, TX has been ramping up to transition key products to "Made in the USA." As we roll out these American-made inverters and batteries, customers will benefit from:
✅ 10% domestic content tax credits for businesses
✅ Stable, competitive pricing on U.S.-built energy solutions

🔹 Closing Unfair Loopholes
Many Chinese companies avoided tariffs by exploiting the under-$800 shipment exemption—while EG4 has always paid its fair share (~20%). As of Monday, that loophole is gone. Now, duties for those companies stand at:
🔸 Batteries: 21%
🔸 Cells: 35%
🔸 Inverters: 35%
(They may attempt to illegally reduce the value of the goods on the shipping declaration, but at least now they will be paying something and ultimately will get caught and banned/fined if they try that too many times)

This levels the playing field for companies like EG4, which have created over 400 American jobs while ensuring long-term U.S. operations and warranty support.

🔹 The Future is Bright
The solar and storage industry is stronger than ever! Costs will remain affordable, but more importantly, a greater share of energy solutions will be proudly built right here in the USA.

Exciting times ahead! Let’s power the future—Made in America. 🚀🔋🇺🇸

We already are, it is not a full transition yet so we will flush out all chinese goods in each product category and announce one-by-one.
The factory will have a grand opening in march, stay tuned for videos from it :)
Does this mean you're going to be producing EG4 inverters (like the 18kpv etc) in the USA sometime in the future?
If so, that's great.
(Even though I'm not an EG4 user)

wow, thank you for the post.

honestly, i will consider using EG4 products more going forward. very new to the solar world and bought anker products.

So let me get this straight.. you will assemble Chinese made parts in the USA and call that "American made"; you're not manufacturing the components in the US, you're just assembling them?

I mean this seems like a ton of sleight of hand business type of shenanigans so you can attempt to deceive people that your product's components don't come from outside.

I suppose in that case all my Ikea furniture is American Made, Proudly assembled in the USA!

why are you being hard on the company?

EVERY company does this. they get parts from all over the world and assemble in the USA. which means JOBS.

Solark waves the American flag all over the place, don’t they? They’re no better

First off, you're making an assumption of what they're going to do with your first statement. Maybe true, maybe not. Could ask instead of accusing.

How many resistors, capacitors, transistors, and various ICs are made here currently?
Some, not all.

At some level, EVERY company - USA based manufacturer or not - uses some level of globally sourced parts. They do not in house manufacture every component. There is a particular threshold you're supposed to hit of USA-sourced parts before you can say "made in the USA" vs "assembled in the USA."

Thanks for the Heads Up.

Keep us posted. Ignore the argumentative assholes on here. You'll never make them happy.

Wow, maybe EG4 products will finally be worth there price.
It would be cool to get some of the engineers designing the products engaged on the forum.
It would be awesome to share your quality and testing procedures.
Is it safe to assume detailed firmware changelogs will be included? They should be minimal since they will be designed built and tested in the US, correct?

While I see your point, I think you are being a little overly critical. Pick any "American car" in the last two decades, and look under the hood. They aren't entirely manufactured in the US, as they source parts and components from overseas.

Does the phrase "Designed by Apple in California" sound familiar? Nobody is under the impression that this means all manufacturing and assembly is done in the US.

Sol-Ark advertises "U.S. Assembled and Tested." Nobody is under the impression it's sourced, manufactured, and built in the US.

Moving assembly (and jobs) to the US, is a huge step for EG4. I don't understand why people post just to post. Appreciate the step towards progress, or don't.. but claims of "sleight of hand" as if this is unique to EG4 is absurd.

Lets be honest, with all the naysayers, and shitposters who flock to any "James Showalter" post, why would you want to subject their engineering teams to that insanity. I'd personally rather not see them on the forums, and instead.. focus on the products.

Nice ! Even though I would like a lower price Outback vfx 3648 it’s a beast of an inverter that I still admire.unfortunately I think they are out of business
Hope you guys can keep the same price with the better quality and support .
I use a lot of your products .

You're right. I might have been too critical of it. I am aware that every company does this, but I suppose I want to expect more than just the status quo.

Not like I wrote that targeting EG4 directly, they just happened to be the ones posting under the DIY general conversation rather than on the vendor review corner so figured it was fair game. Again, could have used a better tone so thanks for pointing that out.

I guess it irks me to have the CEO just do a puff piece on a DIY forum but maybe that's me, again, being overly critical. I would have loved to see more of a AMA style thing rather than just a bullet point list being dropped. And I suppose I do take note of the hypocracy of a CEO who has made their company from Chinese imported equipment bashing other Chinese imported things as if they didn't also get their start due to said Chinese equipment.

Glad they are expanding their operations in a country that they sell in. I want to see more of that across the entire solar industry!

Yes, take the F 150 Ford for example, down the list around #60 (actually #58 in 2024) as far as American parts sourced and made.

I'd like to understand exactly what they mean by made in USA. Is it taking circuit boards all pre shipped from China and just assembling them into a working unit? Or are they winding their own transformers and stuffing circuit boards like Midnite, who also use global components?

"You are correct in that everything except those couple of DIY units are all made in Arlington, WA USA

However, parts come from all over. Raw PCBs come from China or Taiwan. Aluminum castings come from China and Thailand.

FETs come from anywhere but not China. Electrolytics come from China and the best capacitor manufacturer in the world.

Resistors and small caps ? Not sure where but a lot I am sure come from China.

Connectors... Not sure but the Classic terminal block is made here in Arlington from plastic made in China and square terminals from I don't know where.

That's the short story. But we actually build things here as well as population of the PCBs and testing etc.

There was a video I made about 8 years ago of our production facility which was in another building at the time."

Yes I saw this video .
Midnite shares stuff on their forum from time to time as well.
I think it’s pretty difficult for any country to say an items is 100% made there .
This is if we are taking raw materials in consideration.
