Hello,
I'm new to the forum, but I have been watching Will's YouTube (as well as David Poz) for a few months.
I just moved to FL and will install a Solar / Storage system in a few months (right now I'm renovating a home that my wife and I just bought).
We are in a golf cart community; approximately 95% of the people have the noisy / stinky gasoline powered carts (due to range anxiety)
My cart is 2007 Yamaha G29 (Drive) Pb-acid w/ DC motor.

I want to convert it to Li-Ion w/ AC motor asap.

Here's my idea / questions

Battery
- 72 V (24 series 3.2V cells). [https://offer.alibaba.com/cps/bednd...Lifepo4-3-2v-280Ah-Lithium_1600218570278.html ]. This would give me 10 KWh, and would require less current (heat / iRMS resistance) than 48V system.

Motor (Navitas, Plumb Quick, or TEEKON)
NAVITAS or Plumb Quick
OPTION A: (includes 440A controller)
4KW / 440A

OPTION B (includes 600A controller)
4KW / 600A

They have a 5 KW motor, but they don't have a package including it for Yamaha. I think there is a packaging issue (interference w/ rear suspension).
It may fit however if I modify the cart with a body or suspension lift. If I can make it fit, probably best to go with the 5KW vs 4 KW.

TEEKON

- Not yet available for Yamaha [BUMMER]
- 9 KW / 840 A controller.

I haven't researched BMS yet - I would need 24 S 72V, but don't know what amp rating I would need to supply to the controller (is it the controller Amp rating?)
Any ideas for a BMS?
Do you see any issue with my plan? (72V) w/ 5 KW motor? (24 cells in series) [currently TEEKON is not available]
Any other ideas?
THANK YOU!
Paul
(I'll be questioning the forum regading Solar for my home in about 3 months)

The Navitas controller is a good choice.. go with the AC Conversion, and if you have the option, kick your battery up to the mid 60 volt range.. if its an option.

I have a bad attitude about Chinese batteries so I'll just leave it with that.

I have a 2013 48v Precedent with FLA cells and am waiting for them to wear out.. which it seems they're not doing.. When they go, I'll find a good deal on EV cells and build a battery.
