Reading the Growatt SPH TL-HU-US monitoring port

The new Growatt SPH TL-HU-US version has a CN5 "upper computer" port and a CN2 USB port. Has anyone been able to successfully read one of these ports with SolarAssistant, Home Assistant or perhaps modbus directly?

The manual doesn't give the pinout of the CN5 port. This is what SolarAssistant has for pinout of non-us version.

I was recently in working with Solar Assistant support staff trying to get SA to communicate with the SPH via CN5 but no success. Growatt did not respond to me or SA support staff with clear documentation regarding CN5 and so at this time we have reached an impasse.

I've tried over the last couple nights all the ports on one of these to try to read to a Solar Assistant, with no luck. I'm debating trying the USB port, to see what happens there, but I doubt it'll work either.

Just dropping in to note that I am in the same boat. Tried a number of past growatt combinations on the "Upper Computer" port on the assumption that it is RS485 with no results.

Good Evening anyone getting closer to get information form this SPH TL-HU-US parts ? i have 3 in Parallel and and connected to the Growatt sever but for no reason one of them stop updating in the middle of the night 4 days ago and is not coming back online. my other model Growatt inverters i have connected to Solar assistant and it always works but this Growatt sever is not reliable , i really wish there was a way to get Local data . the inverts have ben running grate for 2 weeks that is all good .

I have emails out to several suppliers and growatt themselves. It is like pulling teeth to get any information. I would like to be able to remotely change settings on mine. The TL-HU-US does not seem to behave as other older growatt inverters do and I suspect may have some bugs.

I have been in contact with some Growatt technicians and I got good help, but as soon as I asked how to get access to the computer port or the pinout, I didn't get an answer or they told me they would get back with an answer later. The settings work normally now inside the inverter after several restarts, but the settings inside the app are not all working, and I have no battery voltage history. (Like other Growatt inverters) And I can't get my battery to communicate. I'm missing important data I could easily get in Solar Assistant. Hopefully, someone can help make it work.

Currently have been working with SPH3000-6000TL-B with SA(solar assistant) and able to get communications vis rs485 to USB Waveshare device and Growatt SPH setting rs485 VPP

Has anyone figured out the CN5 pinout and what they are? A, B GND, etc.

CN5 (upper computer port) is RS485 Modbus-RTU. Pin1 is B, Pin2 is A. Baud is 115200.

Use the VPP port, change Battery type to Lead-Acid, and set RS485 communications.. do not us CAN from Battery to SPH. Connect Battery to SA and SPH to SA via Waveshare USB Rs485 device.. Pin 1 B- and Pin 5 A+, White Orange stripe B- and White Blue Strip A+ / USB end to SA. Configure SA according to Help on Solar-Assistant.io page under SPH, Step 2
