Windows 10 Failed to install 0x800f0831
Reference Link: June 14, 2022—KB5014699 (OS Builds 19042.1766, 19043.1766, and 19044.1766) (microsoft.com)
Version: OS Builds 19042.1766, 19043.1766, and 19044.1766

Sub-Notice #4
5/31/22
REMINDER
Windows 10, version 20H2 reached end of service on May 10, 2022, for devices running the Home, Pro, Pro Education, and Pro for Workstations editions. After May 10, 2022, these devices will no longer receive monthly security and quality updates that contain protection from the latest security threats. To continue receiving security and quality updates, Microsoft recommends updating to the latest version of Windows 10 or Windows 11.

We will continue to service the following editions: Windows 10 Enterprise and Education, Windows 10 IoT Enterprise, Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session, Windows 10 on Surface Hub, and Windows Server, version 20H2.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The FIX upgrade to Win-11 (often means New PC) real fun that is
Buy an Updated version of "Home" and install it.
or Migrate to Linux !

Now pepping to Blow Windoz UP and install Debian Linux, most likely Ubuntu X64

EDIT: I forgot to add the Windows Build Versions affected
To locate your Build Version, Open "Settings" scroll to the bottom and select "About", scroll to the bottom and it is all there.

You've been advised, so do what you want with it.
Good Luck.

Much appreciated. Thank you.

Your most welcome. I also Called out MightySoft on this in one of their most visible places as their Lame & Useless solutions NEVER address the fact that this relates to Win Pro or 1st gen Win-10 Home. The "unpleasant" reaction is equivalent to Poop through a Goose & Bug on the bumper, no more running & hiding anymore.

Sadly FEW will see this as it is in Chat-Chat and will not appear in What's New etc.

You know you are out of the loop when your first reaction to this post is "I haven't used Windows 10 in years!" and then checking system info to see that I am using Windows 10 right now...

My desktop PC is old enough that the Window 11 update checker just laughs at me.
