I just took off the back cover of the remote and found out that the middle two wires of the RJ-11 connector (red and green wires) are tied to the on/off switch.

Hi! Sorry to dredge up an old thread. But were you able to successfully used a standard switch to control the on/off function of the inverter? I'd like to be able to turn the inverter off with a Victron Battery protect via a remote switch/wire. I found this, and might use that instead to avoid soldering 100 gauge wires (okay, not that small but you get the point)
