I have a Renogy DC-DC charger with RS485 port. I am running Home Assistant in my RV and I want to track both the solar and alternator charging going into my house bank. While doable, the computer running home assistant is not very close to where my charger is so thinking about not running ethernet and doing this wirelessly (Renogy was kind enough to publish the RS485/Modbus specs). Looking for a recommendation on an RS485 to wifi controller (preferably with ethernet port if I decide to bail on wifi and go ethernet cable). For those doing this via wifi, how reliable have you found it to be?
Looking at something like this:
Wide DC Input 5~18VDC Elfin-EW11A Data Transfer Via Wi-Fi Support RS232/RS485 to Ethernet/Wi-Fi Conversion
Or waveshare?
Rail-Mount Serial Server, RS485 to WIFI/Ethernet Module, Modbus MQTT Gateway
