RS485 to Wifi Gateway Thoughts and Recommendations

I have a Renogy DC-DC charger with RS485 port. I am running Home Assistant in my RV and I want to track both the solar and alternator charging going into my house bank. While doable, the computer running home assistant is not very close to where my charger is so thinking about not running ethernet and doing this wirelessly (Renogy was kind enough to publish the RS485/Modbus specs). Looking for a recommendation on an RS485 to wifi controller (preferably with ethernet port if I decide to bail on wifi and go ethernet cable). For those doing this via wifi, how reliable have you found it to be?

Looking at something like this:
Wide DC Input 5~18VDC Elfin-EW11A Data Transfer Via Wi-Fi Support RS232/RS485 to Ethernet/Wi-Fi Conversion

Or waveshare?
Rail-Mount Serial Server, RS485 to WIFI/Ethernet Module, Modbus MQTT Gateway

I use the ew11 and it works well once you realise you put your LAN settings under WAN. I have 5 running doing various transfers, rs485 to rs485, rs485 to modbus TCP, rs485 to their virtual serial port on a pc so I can connect to my JKPB BMS's remotely. Tried the waveshare but did not get on as well with it, maybe just because I used the EW11 first. First EW11 is 5:years old and running flawlessly.

I would just run a rs485 cable(I have been salvaging damaged long ethernet cables for this, usually crushed by something on on spot) to it and be done with it, any of the wifi gateway hardware is going to have its own API, and you are going to have to code something up to read it, unless you put a full raspberry PI there with its own rs485 interface.
