I am trying to add (2) Ruixu Lithi-2-16 batteries to an existing EG4 18k with (6) eg4 lifepower batteries.
Problem is there are no DIP switches on the Ruixu. Set them to Luxpower and they appear to auto select addresses. Zero documentation on this.

So far I have connected the inverter to the first Ruixu and then daisy chained to the second Ruixu and then the remaining EG4s.
Set the eg4 batteries to 3-8
It “seems” to work. Charging and discharging ok I think. No alarms in the inverter.
Problem is the eg4 app shows only 2 batteries in parallel. 628ah.
Ruixu shows battery 1 & 2 on their screens.

Any thoughts?

You might try contacting Ruixu tech support. They have been helpful with other customers.

Interesting. I have two inverters, and a rack of each brand. The RUIXU's are using Lithium type '6' for comm with the latest firmware, I thought it was CAN, but I never put a probe on it, the cable is straight thru. My LiPO-4's use an RS485 that taps pins 1/2 -> 5/4( if memory serves ) , and use Lithum type 0 (EG4). So not really sure how that would all work. I'm guessing you are only reading the RUIXU's. That being said, as long as the chemistry is the same you should be fine.

"I have a rack of 5 RUIXU batteries running closed loop on a 6000XP. I have firmware LD18 loaded and switches 6&7 on at the master battery. Works great and with LD18 firmware they report significant battery info to the EG4 monitor site and correctly indicate the number of batteries and AH's in the web based and mobile monitoring software. Getting ready to add another 6000XP and 6 more batteries.
Mike E." This is from Ruixu customer . hope this helps

The Ruixu and EG4 LifePower4 batteries more than likely do not use the same battery to battery communication protocol. The "Master" battery (whether it is a Ruixu or EG4 LifePower4) must be able to communicate with all batteries in the stack.

It may also be possible that the RJ45 jacks are wired differently.

The EG4 LifePower4 V1 batteries employ two RS485 busses in the tow RJ45 jacks. Pins 1&2 are for BMS to inverter or BMS to BMS_Test software or Solar Assistant. Pins 7&8 are used by the "Master" to pull data from the other batteries.

Not sure how the Ruixu is actually wired. The manual does suggest that pins 1&2 and pins 7&8 are RS485 busses but are they wired in parallel or are they two different busses.

FYI, I recently installed the Gridboss, Flexboss and lithi2-16. To get closed coms working I had to set the battery inverter to PYLON and the lithium battery brand to type 1 in the inverter settings. Otherwise I got a communication error or status check notice and the inverter went into standby. This was not documented, mainly trial and error and help from Quattrohead in a related post. Seems to work fine now but only one battery currently (one more on order).
