Hello new to forum.

Ive seen its been talked about 48v to 12v converter to power 12v Hydraulic Jacks or electric Slides.
Has anyone found the best way. Besides running a 12v battery.
Victron has a 24v 70amp. Ive seen people running two in parallel to power the 12v high amp rv systems.

You just need to size its continuous output to meet any surge current you might experience.

This is one reason why I like to treat 24V/48V vehicle system as "on board shore power" where you leave the 12V system intact... the biggest reason? You basically have a 12V backup system built in, and that 12V battery can handle any surge you throw at it... like RV genny starting...

Yeah, yeah... DC-AC-DC conversion is only about 75% efficient, but I use way less 12V than AC power.

Leaving a small 12 volt lead acid battery in place is, to me, the easiest solution. I did that on my prior toy hauler and I'm doing it again with my new toy hauler. I don't have slides but I do have a generator, so I need something that can handle the surge current to start the generator.

I'm using the Victron Orion Tr 48-12/30 to get 12 volt power to the RV's DC system. An Orion XS 12-12/50 is downstream from that to keep the battery on the tongue charged. I'll throttle down the Orion XS to 10 amps or less.
