I've got a ton of RYOBI 18V tools and batteries. When RYOBI came out with their 40V tools, I started making 18V to 40V adapters. Now that I have a couple of 40V batteries, I thought I'd make a 40V to 18V adapter. It looks like something out of Sci-Fi movie, but it works (At least for tools that draw less than 10A). Because of the weight of the 40V batteries and the DC-DC converters, I wouldn't suggest this for tools that you swing around. I'm not sure the tools interface will hold up.

Why did you do it this way when you could have taken the 40 volt battery apart and put 5s4p in the 40 volt battery case

I made a 5 volt battery power supply out of a 40 volt battery pack case and it works very good you just gave this idea for when I buy another 40 volt battery pack case and make a 18 volt super battery pack for this project idea thanks for sharing your idea gave me ideas

This is one with the battery power supply for phone and tablet that I about six months ago I also did one with a Ryobi 40 volt case as well
